Because the wrong project costs more than just money.
Why I Work With Builders
I didn’t choose builders. I grew up in it.
In 1992, my brother Dean and my step-brother died on a job site while building a home. Dean had started his business straight out of high school and found fast success. By 24, he had several projects going at once – and no real systems in place yet. One morning, a generator was left running in the basement of a new build. They both went down to check on it and were overcome by carbon monoxide.
That was the day our family’s building business ended.
Today, decades later as I write this, I’m not just a sister who lost her brothers, I’m an expert who understands that growth without systems is a liability.
What this has to do with your marketing
My brother’s problem wasn’t that he couldn’t build. His problem was that the business was moving faster than the systems around it.
That’s where a lot of builders are now.
As your business has grown, you’re not in the early scramble anymore. You’ve got crews, jobs, vendors, and a marketing company or marketing manager in the mix. But the marketing often starts drifting because everyone is busy and nobody is looking at the big picture.
- Facebook ads from 2023 are still running
- Google ads are still on autopilot
- Google Business Profile has the same photos and description it’s had for years
- Website still says the right words, but not the current ones
- Not a thought about Answer Engine Optimization (A.I. answers)
Your every day moves so fast, nobody stops to revisit what still fits the business you’ve actually become.
That’s the leak.
Not one disaster.
A thousand little things left untouched.
That is how money gets wasted quietly.
Why This Matters
Most marketing problems in growing construction businesses are not caused by one bad decision.
They happen because:
the checklist gets done once and never revisited
the jobs keep moving
the owner stays busy
and no one is looking at the whole system
So the business keeps paying for things that were set up in an older version of itself.
That is exactly what I audit.
Why I Care About Audits
I’m not interested in marketing that looks active while the real picture is neglected.
I look for the leaks:
stale ad spend
untouched Google profiles
weak or outdated messaging
poor alignment between the website and the current business
and marketing that is being “handled” but not really overseen
The goal is not more activity.
The goal is a marketing system that matches the size and standards of the business you’ve built.
Why This Feels Familiar To Me
I’ve spent years around builders, remodelers, and job sites. I understand what it means to carry too many moving parts and keep pushing because there’s always another deadline.
I also understand how easy it is for marketing to become one more thing that’s “technically being done” without anyone really steering it.
That’s why I focus on audits.
Because a growing business can look busy and still be leaking.
What I Help With Now
I help builders and remodelers see where their marketing is drifting and what to fix first.
That may mean:
cleaning up the website
revisiting Google Business
checking whether ads still make sense
tightening messaging
or identifying where money is being spent without oversight
- building AI authority, so you show up when a homeowner asks about a kitchen remodel or new home build
I can’t help you build more hours into the day.
But I can help you stop losing ground to things that were never revisited.
If this sounds like your business
If your business has grown, but the marketing still feels like it drifted over time, or belongs to an older version of the business, I can help you find the leaks and bring it back into alignment.
